Essence of Christmas

“Essence of Christmas”

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. That what most people tell. Houses are full of Christmas decorations and brightened up with colorful lights spread in every corners of the house. Shoppers are very busy in buying gifts in the cool breeze of December. People are excited for the gifts that they will receive from their friends or loved one’s. But most of all we should remember the essence of Christmas.
Christmas is the birth of Jesus Christ. Well for me, it is the day of sharing, giving, loving, helping and forgiving. The true essence of Christmas relies not on the gifts which commands you to spend more but on the love and unity that each one of us should build. Spend less on gifts and more on relationships. We should love each one of us not only in Christmas but also every day in our lives. We should not forget the essence of Christmas!
We should celebrate Christmas with peace and happiness and always remember “Give Love on Christmas Day”.

Equal rights, Equal opportunities

“Equal rights, Equal opportunities”

Every people have their rights and these rights should be equal. We should also be treated similarly and there should not be discrimination. Simply, we should have an equal rights and equal opportunities.
The aim according to this often “complex and contested concept” is that important jobs should go to those “most qualified”, a person most likely to perform ably in a given task and not go to persons for arbitrary or irrelevant reasons, such as circumstance of birth, upbringing, friendship ties to whoever in power, sex, religion, and many more. Chances for advancement should be open to everybody interested such that they have an equal chance to complete within the framework of goals and the structure of rules established. This is only one example of unequal treatment and unequal rights of people. There are more problems regarding discrimination that we should remove as soon as possible.
The call for equal rights is a persuasive one. All people are created in the image of God and no person and certainly not a whole category of people should be subjected to unjust and unequal treatment.

Responding to Climate Change

"Responding to Climate Change "

Now a day’s we are experiencing climate change. We know that climate change is a significant and lasting change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns over periods ranging from decades to millions of years. Therefore, it poses a great threat to the planet and its inhabitants.
According to my observation, we the Filipino’s are very irresponsible in taking care of our environment. We used to scattered our trash everywhere, especially to those people who are living near the river and that cause to us air pollution and also flood. Pollution can create global warming could bring climate change. We are suffering global warming and people are complaining because of the hotness they feel. This is also our fault why we are suffering this. We don’t care with our environment sometimes that’s why we are suffering.
We should protect our environment. This is also for our own good. We should take care of them as long as we are still alive.

Another Challenge

A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.” In this quotation, dreams can be reality but we have to take many challenges to fulfill it.
I dream to become an honor student, hoping that someday I will become a Top 10. I need to strive hard for this dream and I need to give all my best. I focus on my study, I work hard and before the 1st periodical test, I review well and fortunately I got high score in my entire subject and luckily I didn’t get below 50 score. After the test, I’m always praying at night that I want to become a Top 10, I’m so excited for the result and luckily I’ve belong to the Top 10. I was shock that time when our adviser announced the Top 10 and I didn’t expect that I will become a 3rd honor.
One lesson that I’ve learned in my 1st grading period is that “If you believe in yourself and work hard, you can achieve great result.” This will become my inspiration to the next grading period, I will do my best, I will work hard, I should have a determination, I should focus on my study and I need to review well for the 2nd periodical test. This will become another challenge for me.

Scientricity: Energizing Science Clubbers for Sustainable Energy

The Philippine Society of Youth Science Clubs (PSYSC), the first and largest umbrella science club organization, in its 41st year of unfaltering expertise, proudly presents an electrifying September-long activity that will leave you charged up. With the theme, “SCIENTRICITY: Energizing Science Clubbers for Sustainable Energy”.
Sustainable energy is the sustainable provision of energy that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. Technologies that promote sustainable energy include renewable energy sources, such as hydroelectricity, solar energy, wind energy, wave power, geothermal energy, and tidal power, and also technologies designed to improve energy efficiency. Sustainable Energy is changing the way the world installs solar power, with innovative solutions to enhance energy output from solar power systems.  Sustainable Energy Solutions promotes the increased use and deployment of clean energy technologies and services as a means to support economic development and reduce poverty in developing countries.
Whenever you save energy, you not only save money, you also reduce the demand for such fossil fuels as coal, oil, and natural gas. Less burning of fossil fuels also means lower emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), the primary contributor to global warming, and other pollutants. We should  not waste energy! We should Conserve it! Because this is also for our own good......most especially to our ENVIRONMENT.

My Teacher,My Hero

“My Teacher, My Hero”

The teacher is a dynamic force that motivates everyone to become a responsible, productive citizen. The teacher is the backbone of the community. The role played by teachers becomes very significant since they are considered as one of the nation builders. There is no lawyer, Doctor or nurses, without Teacher. Our teacher plays a great role in our life.
Teachers is said to be our second parents, 5 times a week in morning until afternoon they are our companion. They are the one who teach us to be a good citizen and teach us to have a good moral and right conduct. We have learned so much from them. So we should salute and proud of them.
Our second parents, our teachers have helped a lot in the contribution of our success. For me, they are a hero because they have the quality of a hero which is they sacrifice, they have determination, courage, dedication, selfless and perseverance.
This coming teacher’s day was a good way of expressing gratitude to our beloved teachers whom are the reason why we have accomplished most of what we have accomplished until the present. However, we should not only express our warmest thanks to our teachers during the 5th day of the month of October but it should always be done always. Thank you Dear teachers! We love you!

My Hero

"My Parents are My Heroes"

They are not just my parents, they are my life, my idol, my inspiration and they are my hero. They are my hero because from childhood until now, they are always there supporting, guiding, caring and loving me. My parents are my heroes because they are the strongest and most loving people I know. They have both worked so hard and sacrificed so much to provide for me and my sister and give us the best lives possible.
Since I was a child, I think I was still a baby that time, my mother sacrificed to go to the other country to work, to provide our needs and to give us a good and abundant life. I salute her so much because of her sacrifices. I love my mother, no matter what happen.
My father is the one who is taking care of us, who do the household chores, he’s the one who sent me to school and who always cook for our breakfast, lunch and dinner. He is so industrious and very patient father. I love him also, no matter what happen.
My Parents are the one who give me advice and they teach me to become a good person. They will sacrifice everything for us, that is why I called my parents a “HERO”.

Theme: Tatag ng Wikang Filipino, Lakas ng Pagkapilipino

"Tatag ng Wikang Filipino, Lakas ng Pagka-Pilipino"
It was December 30, 1937 when President Manuel L. Quezon declared that Filipino is the National Language of the Philippines. So this Month is the 75th year of celebrating the month of language.
Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa is celebrated during the month of August per the provision of Presidential Decree 1041, series of 1997, as declared by former President Fidel Ramos. This year, the Department of Education has released a memorandum (DM No. 104, s. 2012) citing the 2012 Buwan ng Wika theme "Tatag ng Wikang Filipino, Lakas ng Pagka-Pilipino.'" Buwan ng Wika is yearly celebrated in the Philippines to commemorate the importance of having one language that binds the people of a nation.
Our language is one of the most important evidence that affirmative that we are a Filipino. You cannot say to yourself that you are a Filipino if you are not giving importance to your own language. As Jose Rizal said “Ang di marunong magmahal sa sariling wika, ay mas masahol pa sa malansang isda.”
Through our Filipino language, we understand and we unite each other because of this our goal will fulfill. We should not forget to give importance and to love our language. This is our obligation in being a Filipino and we should always remember the importance of our national language, don’t be shame to it and don’t ever ignore it.
..........I am Maricris Bueno! Proud to be a Filipino!..........

Reflection

“Moving on"

“Through experience, we are learning, we discover and we develop.” This saying means a lot to me and I believe that everything that we experience, we can learn something to it that will make ourselves stronger in facing problems that are coming and will come into our life and especially we are learning lessons through what we have done.
Education is very important to us because as we know, this is the key to our success.  Every new level we’ve learn many things, we earn knowledge and we discover something. In my every subject, I have learned and discovered different things especially the things that will help me to my future.
Problems are always there but it is a challenge to everybody to solve it.  Sometimes there are times that I don’t understand the lesson that our teacher discussed because sometimes I’m not listening to him/her and sometimes I’m not focusing. That is the reason why I do not know the answers of my assignment that our teacher given to us and that cause for forcing myself to cheat to the answer of my classmate. Rushing project is also one of my problem and it making me stress. The reason why sometimes I’m rushing my project is sometimes I deferred it.
As of now, I am always listening to our teacher and focusing to my study, so whenever we have a quiz, I get a high score and I’m not also cheating the answer to the assignment of my classmate anymore. When our teacher gave us a project, I start it early for me not to rush again my project.
Moving on, I will study hard, focus on study, and participate during class discussion. I will also be more responsible and industrious.

SONA of President Pnoy

State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Pnoy”

"The President's 3rd SONA showed us the truth about the nation, inspired us to do the impossible, and defined the ways how we should move forward."

The 3rd SONA of President Pnoy happened last July 23, 2012 at the Batasan Pambasa Complex in Quezon City. As expected, mixed reactions depending on which side of the fence is observing from. Some people are satisfied and some people are not satisfied to the SONA of the President.
For my own observation, President Pnoy is really sincere to what his saying and I believe that he can make our country more progressive. He reports the following fight against graft and corruption, building of roads and infrastructures, the strengthening of our educational system, housing, electoral form and many more. He mentioned about responsible parenthood in relation to the shortages of classrooms, school chairs and books and it was the most applauded highlight of his speech. That’s why I’m satisfied to his 3rd SONA unlike his 1st and 2nd SONA because he is more confident to what his saying
I admire our President Benigno Simeon Aquino III because of his sincere dedication to the public service. I am hoping that he will continue his unblemished records for the past two years as far as corruption is concerned. We really need a president who is clean, honest and not corrupt.

"Pagkain ng gulay ugaliin, araw-araw itong ihain"

"Eat Vegetable Everyday For a Better body and a longer life"

Our life is the greatest gift of God. Everyday in our life we used something that will make our life longer and that is also one of the basic needs of people and that is “Food”. Food is very important because we cannot live without this. Not all foods are nutritious and sometimes it is not good to our health.
This year 2012, we are celebrating the 38th nutrition month of July with the theme “Pagkain ng gulay ugaliin, araw-araw itong ihain”. This celebration aims to encourage Filipino’s to eat more vegetables and to increase country’s vegetable consumption. Vegetables are important as it gives vitamins and minerals to our body to prevent and fight disease.
Some children doesn’t like to eat vegetables, some of their reason is it has a bad taste. The parents should explain and encourage their children to eat vegetables and they should always serve it everyday. Avoid eating junk foods because it contain high levels of calories from sugar or fat with little protein, vitamins, and minerals. Junk food increases your risk of heart diseases, which block your arteries with plaque and causes heart attacks and strokes while vegetables can give us strong body resistance.
As early as possible we should eat vegetables in our daily life. We should take good care of our health because everyday we should have an energy to make our mind function well and have an alertness.
